Routes you share

Your route remains in your browser while you draw it. When you press Share, the ordered coordinate list is stored in Supabase under a random short code so GeoRoute can make a compact link. Marker numbers are inferred from point order and are not stored separately.

Anyone who has a route link can view that route. Shared routes do not contain an account name, point names, descriptions, timestamps, or styling metadata. Do not use a shared route for information that must remain confidential.

Address search and map tiles

Address searches are sent through GeoRoute.dev to Photon, an OpenStreetMap-based geocoding service, so matching locations can be returned. OpenStreetMap-compatible tile servers receive ordinary web requests needed to draw the visible map. Their own privacy practices apply to those requests.

Analytics

GeoRoute.dev uses privacy-friendly Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous page-view totals. It does not use cookies, and its visitor hash resets daily. Shared route paths are grouped as one generic route page before they are sent, so route link codes are not included.

Google Analytics also receives cookieless signals in consent mode, with analytics and advertising storage denied. We do not send route coordinates, address search text, selected addresses, or route link codes to either analytics service.

Browser storage and accounts

GeoRoute.dev has no user accounts, login, saved route history, or advertising profiles. The app does not use cookies, local storage, or sessions for route creation.
